ATLANTA OFFICIAL WANTS DOMINICAN BEISBOL ON THE AIR IN U.S.

          Atlanta City Council President Rob Pitts is working
     with Dominican Professional Baseball League (DPBL) President
     Leonardo Berrido and Telecable Nacional President Jose
     Florentino to make the games "available to the American
     audience," according to Prentis Rogers of the ATLANTA
     CONSTITUTION.  Pitts "hopes to produce" a U.S. carrier for
     DPBL games.  Pitts: "They're committed to it, financially
     and otherwise.  I will speak to Turner, ESPN, ESPN2, BET,
     Fox, and I believe somebody is going to bite."  Prentis
     wrote that Fox Sports Net and ESPN "are the two most viable
     options."  FSN "said it is reviewing the possibility," while
     ESPN "had no comment" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 11/21).
