ABC LOOKING FOR A SHARPE-R LOOK ON "MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL"?

          Dan Dierdorf's "run as an analyst on ABC's Monday Night
     Football is coming to an end," according to a "highly placed
     source in the cable sports industry" cited by Jim Gintonio
     of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC.  The source said a deal "is all but
     finalized" to replace Dierdorf with ESPN's Sterling Sharpe. 
     ABC "refused to confirm or deny" the report.  ABC Dir of
     Media Relations Mark Mandel said the net is "in negotiations
     right now" with Dierdorf.  Mandel: "No one at ABC has spoken
     with Sterling Sharpe or his agent" (AZ REPUBLIC, 11/22).
