MORE DEFECTIONS AT NFL PROPERTIES; BROSNAN TO BE MLB'S MAN?

NFLP VP/Creative Services BRUCE BURKE is "leaving after
12 years creating the league's advertising, likely to open
his own firm," according to Terry Lefton of BRANDWEEK. In
addition to Burke, NFLP Retail Sales Dir JACK FITZGIBBONS
has joined the USTA as Dir of Advertising & Promotion. NFLP
Senior Manager of Licensing/Trading Cards COLIN HAGEN, who
ran the league's trading card business, will become Group
Licensing Dir at MLBP and NFLP Senior Manager of Club
Services BILLY HAMPTON, who has handled Pro Line Operations,
will join the Browns. Lefton adds that industry speculation
"still has the future" of NFL President NEIL AUSTRIAN and
NFLP President SARA LEVINSON "up in the air. Both are in
the final year of their contracts (BRANDWEEK, 10/26).
AT MLB: Lefton adds that the "buzz" during the World
Series was the MLB Int'l COO TIM BROSNAN "will be the next"
President of MLBP, replacing BOB GAMGORT (BRANDWEEK, 10/26).
