ABL TRYING TO PUT ITS HOLD-SCLAW ON NEW YORK CITY AREA

The ABL "is talking" to investors "about bringing an
expansion team into the [NY-NJ-CT] tri-state area,"
according to Kristie Ackert of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS. ABL CEO
Gary Cavalli: "There are two reasons we'd like to come to
New York. Obviously, because New York is a major media
market. But also because of Chamique [Holdsclaw]." Univ.
of TN senior Holdsclaw is a N.Y. native, and Cavalli said
the ABL will "pursue her very, very aggressively." Cavalli
said Trenton, NJ, and Long Island "have been mentioned as
possible locations for the expansion franchise," and hopes
to make an announcement in January (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 9/26).
