          The Angels sold out their final home game last night
     against the Rangers and for the season, drew 2,519,210,
     their best year at the gate since drawing 2,555,688 in '90. 
     (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 9/24)....In St. Paul, Charley Walters
     reports that "plans are under way for the Vikings to
     dramatically raise ticket prices" for '99.  Insiders say
     tickets for some seats could "double in price."  Walters
     adds to look for "significant price hikes in the Vikings-
     controlled Metrodome luxury suites when corporate contracts
     expire after this season."  Walters writes that the Twins
     "are livid" about the Vikings "luring" Sales Dir Phil
     Huebner to its sales department (PIONEER PRESS, 9/24).
     ...Mavericks coach/GM Don Nelson announced "Nellie's
     Training Camp Challenge," in which 1,000 students from 10
     Dallas-area and Ft. Worth-area schools will be chosen to
     attend an after-school basketball camp on Tuesdays and
     Thursdays in October (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 9/23).
