FACILITY NOTES

          A crowd of about 37,000 showed up Saturday for
     "HockeyFest," the early opening of the National Car Rental
     Center in Sunrise, FL.  The crowd's "verdict ... appeared to
     be positive, even ecstatic (MIAMI HERALD, 9/20).  In Ft.
     Lauderdale, David Fleshler called the new arena "a huge hit
     with fans" (Ft. Lauderdale SUN-SENTINEL, 9/19)....TX Motor
     Speedway officials "plan to add 4,800 seats to the track by
     next March's Winston Cup race ... as part of" the $30M,
     nine-story Speedway Club (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 9/19).
     ....Before Sunday's Dolphins-Steelers game, an 11' 7",
     1,200-lb. statue of Joe Robbie, the Dolphins' founder, was
     unveiled outside the stadium (Ft. Lauderdale SUN SENTINEL,
     9/21)....The NJ Sports & Exposition Authority awarded a
     $1.4M contract to a joint venture of architects and
     developers to map out Continental Airlines Arena's future.
     NBBJ Sports & Entertainment will lead a group of six
     companies to write the feasibility study (Mult., 9/19).
