POOR RECORD AND ATTENDANCE AFFECTING TWINS' BOTTOM LINE

The Twins' "record in recent weeks has been like their
financial report -- not very good," according to Sid Hartman
of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. Through July 31, gross
ticket revenue was $7,691,519, compared to $10,115,339 last
year, down $2,423,820. Total baseball concession sales were
     $3,414,611, down $599,182 from last year's $4,013,793. The
Twins' share of the concession income through July 31 was
$1,195,114 compared to $1,404,827 last year, down $209,713.
With the team "not winning, the Twins will be fortunate to
draw 1 million fans" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 8/14).
