TYSON'S TEMPER TANTRUM UNLIKELY TO IMPACT BID FOR NJ LICENSE

          MIKE TYSON "remains a heavy favorite to get a boxing
     license" in NJ within 10 days, despite an "emotional and
     cursing outburst" yesterday near the end of his hearing in
     Trenton, according to Michael Katz of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS. 
     One boxing exec said Tyson "didn't curse" or "attack anyone
     personally.  He should only worry if someone in Jersey
     decided it's a good political issue, and it's not an
     election year."  At least two members of the State Athletic
     Control Board will rule on Tyson's bid in a session next
     Thursday.  There are three members on the board, one of whom
     did not attend yesterday's hearing. Katz adds that two
     voting members "are regarded as sympathetic to Tyson's
     cause" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 7/30).   ESPN's Al Bernstein said
     his "gut feeling" is that NJ will grant Tyson a license. 
     Bernstein: "I think that they feel like it's going to be
     economically good for their state" ("SportsCenter," 7/29).
