RHI'S BUSINESS STRATEGY INVOLVES FACILITIES/IN-LINE PRODUCTS

Roller Hockey Int'l (RHI) President & CEO Bernie Mullin
announced a "plan designed to strengthen the league and have
it re-emerge as a mature league that will succeed into the
next millennium," according to Louie Arias of the ORANGE
COUNTY REGISTER. RHI has merged with Beachport
Entertainment to "expedite the plan," and Mullin said that
RHI and Beachport will have three "major profit entities:"
an expanded league of up to 12 teams, the development of a
full line of licensed street and in-line hockey products and
the development and ownership of multisport facilities. The
facilities "will initially focus on existing RHI markets and
will later grow into expansion markets within the next few
years." Mullin said that "problems with economics were
RHI's downfall," but added, "We are going to diversify the
economics of the game." Mullin said that RHI will begin '99
with a single-entity structure. Arias wrote that the league
faces a $1.6M debt (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 7/26).
