WILL NOVEMBER BALLOT DRIVE A WEDGE THROUGH REDS PLANS?

All indications are that Hamilton County voters this
November "will be able to cast ballots in the long-running
baseball stadium debate," according to Lucy May of the
CINCINNATI ENQUIRER. Proponents of the Broadway Commons
site, opposed to the "tentative deal" for a riverfront
ballpark, are expected to present about 40,000 petition
signatures to Hamilton County officials. To get the
Broadway site measure on the ballot, backers need valid
signatures from 26,800 voters. County Commissioner John
Dowlin expects county officials will know next week whether
Broadway backers have enough signatures to put the measure
on the ballot (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 7/26).
