BILLY JACKED: LIGHTNING BOSS LOOKS TO REGAIN FAN INTEREST

          New Lightning President & CEO Billy McGehee "is
     determined to rekindle interest in a hockey franchise that
     has recently specialized in losing games and alienating
     fans," according to Ira Kaufman of the TAMPA TRIBUNE.  With
     second-year coach Jacques Demers serving as the focal point,
     McGehee is completing an "ambitious" marketing plan
     incorporating renovations to the Ice Palace and a fan-
     friendly approach.  Besides installing a new scoreboard, a
     revamped sound system and a cigar bar at the Ice Palace,
     McGehee "is looking into a series of inter-active booths
     dotting the arena" (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 7/21).
