          Agent LEIGH STEINBERG has signed musician MICK
     FLEETWOOD as Steinberg & Moorad's first client in its new
     entertainment division.  Steinberg "will play a role in
     developing endorsements and marketing initiatives" for
     Fleetwood, who will be touring solo now that Fleetwood Mac's
     reunion tour has ended (DAILY VARIETY, 7/15)....PATRICK
     EWING, ALONZO MOURNING and DIKEMBE MOTUMBO are featured in
     HarperCollins' new "Patrick's Pals" children's book series. 
     The books feature the players as 12-year olds "learning the
     game of life."  Also, Pelican Publishing will release "The
     Adventures of Roopster Roux," about a "sports-loving rooster
     who loves to read," this fall.  Audiocassette versions will
     be narrated by NBA players A.C. GREEN and BRENT BARRY and
     WNBA players CYNTHIA COOPER and TAMMI REISS (USA TODAY,
     7/15)....Chicago Sun-Times TV critic PHIL ROSENTHAL, on
     MAGIC JOHNSON's "The Magic Hour": "It just seems like a
     colossally bad idea" ("Showbiz Today," CNN, 7/14).
