SLOC SETS JOKLIK PAY; USOC HITS 73% OF AD SALES GOAL

The SLOC set President Frank Joklik's salary at
$280,000 annually, "roughly" $50,000 a year less than paid

and Welch "will not be paid" for overtime hours he has
accrued. R. Don Cash, head of SLOC's compensation sub-
committee: "Frank Joklik was not interested in making money
on the Olympics. [He] did request that we be very frugal"
(SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 7/10). In other news, SLOC and the
USOC's joint marketing effort has raised $588M, 73% of its
stated $806M goal to be reached by August 1, '99. Also,
Cindy Gillespie has "reconsidered her decision to resign" as
SLOC VP Federal Relations (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 7/10).
