PUTTIN' ON THE GLITZ: SEAHAWKS ALIVE AND KICKING

          Trying to "upgrade their public appeal by obliterating
     their decade-old image as a mediocre, stagnant
     organization," the Seahawks last night unveiled the TV
     component of their "glitzy" new marketing campaign,
     according to Mike Sandro of the Tacoma NEWS TRIBUNE.  The
     new $1.5M campaign, from Publicis subsidiary EvansGroup, is
     an "aggressive statewide" effort built on the slogan, "We're
     alive and kicking, are you?" (Tacoma NEWS TRIBUNE, 7/6).
          NOTES: The Bucs announced a new publicity initiative
     aimed at increasing the team's community involvement and   
     exposure in Central FL, including the Orlando metro area. 
     The team will extend its national promo and sales activities
     to include Orange, Osceola and Polk counties.  As part of
     the initiative, the Bucs will spend over $1M in media
     support in Central FL and will hire a full-time staff to
     increase the team's involvement in the area (Bucs)....The
     Packers held their first outdoor shareholders meeting this
     morning at Lambeau Field.  In Milwaukee, Bob Wolfley reports
     that the crowd "could get up" to 30,000 (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL
     SENTINEL, 7/8)....Former Cowboys Eugene Lockhart and Alfredo
     Roberts, the remaining owners of the Cowboys Sports Cafe,
     have reached an agreement to sell the restaurant to TX
     business exec Bob Meadows.  Former Cowboys Tony Dorsett and
     Everson Walls sold their interests in the eatery last
     February (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 7/6).
