NO MORE HOLDING BACK THE YEARS: USOC TO EXTEND TERM LIMITS?

          The USOC Board of Directors will vote on a proposal at
     its October meeting which would allow USOC presidents to run
     for two fully elected terms, according to Mike Spence of the
     Colorado Springs GAZETTE-TELEGRAPH.  The measure would waive
     term limits for all other USOC officers.  If it passes, Bill
     Hybl would be the first USOC President to run for re-
     election since Kenneth Wilson, who served as President from
     '53-65 (CO Springs GAZETTE-TELEGRAPH, 7/1).  
          OLYMPIC NOTES: Tampa/Orlando's joint bid committee for
     the 2012 Summer Games named Sykes Enterprises Chair & CEO
     John Sykes as its Chair (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 7/1)....While
     no one has been named to lead the Washington, DC/Baltimore
     bid committee, it was announced on Wednesday that the
     committee will be called "Washington/ Baltimore Regional
     2012 Coalition" (Baltimore SUN, 7/1).
