FRANCHISE NOTES

The Oakland Football Marketing Association announced a
new PSL plan for the Raiders in which PSL payment can be
spread over three years (OFMA). USA TODAY's Gordon Forbes
profiles the Raiders' Amy Trask, "who has emerged" as one of
the NFL's "highest-ranking female executives." Forbes
writes that Trask is Raiders Owner Al Davis' "hand-picked
CEO." Davis: "She is the dominator. She is in charge of
the whole operation, other than football" (USA TODAY, 7/1).
...Tom Boyd, a marketing professor at Miami Univ. who is
conducting a study on factors that affect baseball
     attendance, said that a "big-name pitcher doesn't
necessarily attract fans." Boyd is conducting his study by
analyzing attendance of seven teams -- the Red Sox, Cubs,
Tigers, Angels, Royals, Reds and Mets (SUN-SENTINEL, 6/27).
