          Main Events and HBO announced a $30M, eight-fight deal
     with IBF welterweight champion Felix Trinidad, "one of the
     best but most unheralded boxers in the most competitive
     division in the sport."  Trinidad: "I expect HBO and Main
     Events to put me on the level of a star."  In N.Y., Timothy
     Smith called the deal "an even bigger coup for HBO" (N.Y.
     TIMES, 6/27)....In Chicago, Michael Hirsley reports that
     Wimbledon's "soaked, abbreviated schedule didn't leave NBC
     Sports a lot of exciting tennis to fill its four hours of
     taped coverage Sunday."  NBC was forced to show matches
     featuring Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, both of whom had
     been eliminated (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 6/29).  In Houston, David
     Barron reports that HBO's early ratings from Wimbledon are
     up 25% from a year ago, while NBC's Saturday coverage earned
     an overnight rating of 2.2/6, down from 2.6/8 a year ago
     (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 6/29).  See (#30) for weekend ratings.
