The NHL expansion Blue Jackets named DOUG MACLEAN team
President, adding to his current GM responsibilities (Blue
Jackets)....CLARE HAMILL has been appointed Corporate VP of
Nike's expanded equipment division. Hamill was most
recently GM & VP/Global Footwear at Nike (Nike)....MARC
KRIGSMAN was named VP/Programming & Development for both Fit
TV and Fox Sports Net. Krigsman was at ESPN in a similar
role....BETH SCHUELER was named Dir of Marketing &
Promotions at Fit TV. She was Dir of Marketing & PR for
Management Plus Enterprises (Fox)....PHIL EVANS was named VP
& General Counsel of the CBA, and WADE MOREHEAD was named VP
Basketball Operations (CBA)....The USOC named CHESTER
WHEELER Dir of Licensing & Merchandising and TOM RAMSEY
Senior Sales Manager in its Developmental Division. Wheeler
was Dir of Sports Marketing at Pony Sports & Leisure and
Senior Dir Global Sports Marketing with Reebok. Ramsey was
Dir Corporate Sales for the Broncos (USOC)....ROGER NEWTON,
Exec Dir at the Corel Centre since '95, has "accepted" the
GM post at the Nassau Coliseum (OTTAWA SUN, 6/25).
