KINGS' NEW UNIS HAVE "CHRONICLES OF NARNIA" LOOK

The NHL Kings unveiled their new uniforms and logos
Saturday. The primary logo will be a coat-of-arms,
featuring a crown, the sun and a lion. The secondary logo
will be the crown. The new home jersey is predominately
white with purple shoulders and sleeves, trimmed in black
and silver. The road jersey is predominately black. The
new look was designed by NY-based SME Design (Kings).
HOLLYWOOD FLAIR: In L.A., Jeannine Stein reported that
on the primary logo, "a shield and crest features a lion
holding a staff. The lion, in true Hollywood style, is
wearing sunglasses." The secondary logo "is a bold crown,
with vague deco influences." In addition to the team's
regular home and away jerseys, an alternate purple jersey
with the crown logo will be used for special occasions such
as next season's first game (L.A. TIMES, 6/21). In L.A.,
Tom Hoffarth wrote that with the new unis: "The players can
moonlight as waiters at Medieval Times" (DAILY NEWS, 6/22).
