FACILITY NOTES

In N.Y., architectural writer Herbert Muschamp reviewed
Rafael Vinoly's new Princeton Univ. football stadium design,
which "would make a great location for a fashion shoot."
Muschamp wrote that the stadium "contrasts sharply with the
ponderousness of recent stadium design" (N.Y. TIMES, 6/21).
...Oakland Coliseum Joint Venture, a new management company
consisting of PA-based SMG and CA-based Williams Pacific
Ventures, will take over operations at Oakland Coliseum and
Oakland Arena on July 1. Glenn Mon, SMG Senior VP/Stadiums
& Arenas, will head the transition team (OAKLAND TRIBUNE,
6/19)....In S.F. on Friday, Superior Court Judge Raymond
Williamson declared that the initiative petition put
together by opponents of the 49ers stadium-mall complex
contained "flat-out untruths," and barred S.F.'s acting
Elections Chief Naomi Nishioka from certifying the measure
for the November ballot (S.F. EXAMINER, 6/21).
