BRING BACK SPEED RACER! NASCAR PLANS KIDS SHOW ON FOX

NASCAR has signed a multi-faceted agreement with Fox
Kids Network, which airs in 98% of the U.S. on Fox affils,
calling for Fox to develop a children's TV series based on
the racing circuit. Saban Entertainment will manage the
licensing rights for the NASCAR/Fox Kids series, and will
participate in the design and execution of promotional
efforts with NASCAR. Plans call for an extensive promotion
built around the TV series, including websites, licensed
products and local market events (NASCAR).
TOEING A NEW LINE: "Speedvision: NASCAR at 50 With
Richard Petty," a series of syndicated one-hour specials,
has been cleared in 90% of the country, including WABC in
N.Y., KCAL in L.A., and WMAQ in Chicago. The show is part
of a new long-term programming initiative announced this
week between New Line TV and Speedvision. The companies
also announced plans to develop a weekly, syndicated
motorsports series for Fall '99. The first Petty special is
set to air during the June 29-July 26 window (New Line).
