BRONCOS CAMPAIGN DUBBED AS THE "1998 VERSION OF THE DRIVE"

The election campaign for a new Broncos stadium is
"under way," according to Burt Hubbard of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN
NEWS. Citizens for a New Stadium (CFANS) has purchased
newspaper ads, sent mailings and set up a Web site to build
support for a November referendum on a new facility. The
committee has raised $100,000 in the last two weeks. A
stadium opposition group, Citizens Opposing The Stadium Tax
(COST) has raised $2,500 this year. CFANS is working to get
30,000 signatures to get the stadium measure on the November
3 ballot and "about" 1,000 people have signed up as CFANS
volunteers. CFANS' slogan is "1998's version of The Drive
is about to kick off" (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 6/11).
