49ERS NOT HAPPY ABOUT ANTI-STADIUM TACTICS, PLAN LAWSUIT

The 49ers "don't want a replay of last year's close and
controversy-plagued vote on a new football stadium" in San
Francisco, and plan to "file a lawsuit" to stop anti-stadium
activists from putting the stadium issue on the city's
ballot for the second straight year, according to Lance
Williams of the S.F. EXAMINER. Committee to Stop the
Giveaway (CSG) activist Doug Comstock says that the stadium
issue should be back on the ballot "because cost estimates
have soared since" last year's vote. The group needs 10,000
"valid signatures" by July 6 in order to get the measure on
the November ballot (S.F. EXAMINER, 6/9).
