WILL "SEVEN DAYS" BE MAGIC FOR JOHNSON'S FILM & TV COMPANY?

MAGIC JOHNSON's film and TV development company, which
has a two-year deal at Fox, "has netted a feature spec" with
the studio's purchase of "Seven Days," a romantic comedy-
drama set in the world of hip-hop music, according to Paul
Karon of DAILY VARIETY. Magic Johnson Entertainment Creative
Exec CHARLES MURRAY said that the film is about "a record
producer who marries a high-society lady, but later realizes
he's really in love with his best friend, a woman who writes
for a hip-hop magazine." Johnson will Exec Produce the
project (DAILY VARIETY, 5/20). The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
describes "Seven Days" as "a cross between 'Jerry Maguire'
and 'My Best Friend's Wedding'" (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 5/20).
WHERE DOES HE FIND THE TIME? Johnson and BankBoston CEO
CHAD GIFFORD will meet with VP AL GORE in Washington next
month to discuss "ways of looking at inner cities as areas of
     business opportunity" (BOSTON GLOBE, 5/20).
