COMMON SENS: CTV INKS THREE-YEAR DEAL TO AIR SENATORS GAMES

CTV SportsNet (CTV) has reached a three-year English-
language exclusive cable agreement with the Senators to
broadcast 20 games a season. CTV, which will launch in
October, will air up to 20 regular season Senators games a
season in the East Region for the next three seasons, and
will have the option to carry up to four of the team's
exhibition games (CTV/Senators). Financial terms of the
Senators' CTV deal were not disclosed. In Ottawa, Allen
Penzeri reported that the deal will not affect the team's
local programming, currently carried by CHRO, but open for
bidding at the end of the season (OTTAWA CITIZEN, 5/3).
