          CART driver CHRISTIAN FITTIPALDI was profiled on
     "Extra" by Rick Schwartz.  Schwartz: "Fittipaldi is on the
     fast track to fame.  The 27-year-old Brazilian is being
     compared to the Titanic heartthrob [LEONARDO DICAPRIO]"
     ("Extra," 4/16)....UCLA dedicated its new, $4.5M health
     center in honor of ARTHUR ASHE (L.A. TIMES, 4/17)....TIGER
     WOODS is scheduled to appear tonight on "The Tonight Show"
     with JAY LENO (HARTFORD COURANT, 4/17)....Former Alan Taylor
     exec WAYNE CATAN has opened his own PR agency, NY-based
     CATAN COMMUNICATIONS.  Catan's clients include Y2K Apparel,
     Syracuse Univ., The Female Athlete, Inc. and Cubs RF Sammy
     Sosa, among others (THE DAILY)....On this week's "Inside
     Stuff," tomorrow on NBC, RAY ALLEN discusses his role in
     SPIKE LEE's film, "He Got Game."  Allen, on how the role
     carried over to his basketball career: "I learned to have
     patience on the set and that you can't rush.  That's what
     I've added to my basketball life" (NBAE)....Univ. of TN
     women's basketball coach PAT SUMMITT was in CT to promote
     her new book, "Reach for the Summitt."  In Farmington, more
     than 600 people waited in lines for up to 3 1/2 hours to see
     her (HARTFORD COURANT, 4/17).  Summitt told CHARLIE ROSE
     that while she has been asked to run for Governor of TN, she
     will likely put a political career on hold.  Summitt said
     she would run on the GOP ticket (USA TODAY, 4/17).
