EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          NBA Dir of Marketing Communications PETER LAND was
     named Exec VP and co-GM of Edelman Public Relations
     Worldwide's Creative Solutions unit.  Land will oversee
     Edelman's worldwide sports, entertainment, event marketing
     and promotions interests (N.Y. TIMES, 4/17)....TOM DEERY was
     named VP/NASCAR Winston Racing Series.  He will also assume
     the Chair of the Nat'l Stock Car Auto Racing Commission,
     replacing the retiring BOB SMITH (NSSN, 4/8 issue).
