AFTER TICKET SNAFU, RAPTORS AIM TO PULL UP ROOTS FROM GARDEN

The Raptors played the Lakers last night at Maple Leaf
Gardens instead of the SkyDome, where the Blue Jays "have
priority," and in Toronto, Bill Harris reports that "more
than a thousand" Raptors fans left MLG "angry and
disappointed last night, frustrated by ticket chaos."
Harris reports that "as many as 3,000 fans" waited in line
for tickets and that "many of the people waiting with what
they thought were legitimate tickets were told new tickets
had been issued ... voiding the SkyDome version." Raptors
Dir of Ticketing Chris Overholt insisted there was a "plan"
in place. Overholt: "But we didn't anticipate the sheer
numbers" (TORONTO SUN, 4/1). The STAR's Doug Smith writes
that team ticketing execs "were under siege" by "upset
patrons," and "more than a few" fans left in "disgust before
they got into the building" (TORONTO STAR, 4/1).
