REPORT HAS COCA-COLA'S HEAD OF MARKETING ZYMAN ON THE MOVE

Coca-Cola Chief Marketing Officer SERGIO ZYMAN is
"expected to quit his job shortly," according to Deogun &
Beatty of the WALL STREET JOURNAL. The "sometimes abrasive"
Zyman has been Coca-Cola CMO since '93, and has been
"rumored to be considering" a job at Microsoft or Nike.
However, "some people who know him" say they think he may
opt to "set up shop as a consultant, continuing to counsel
Coke." Zyman's departure "signals a new approach" to
marketing by Coca-Cola's new CEO DOUGLAS IVESTER, who is
seeking to "bring consistency and stability to Coke's global
marketing." Ivester is "expected to name" CHARLES FRENETTE,
who currently heads the company's Southern Africa division,
to replace Zyman. Deogun & Beatty write that Frenette is
"likely to concentrate on beefing up" Coca-Cola's marketing
"at the ground level" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/19).
