          Nashville-based Baptist Hospital has agreed to a ten-
     year deal to become the official health care provider for
     the NHL Predators (Predators)....Expos Dir of Media Services
     Monique Giroux, on reports that the team put "X"'s on spring
     training balls so they wouldn't lose them to the Cardinals,
     who are training at the same complex: "We're not that cheap. 
     St. Louis and us agreed it would be a good way to do it. 
     It's just that they don't have anything marked on their
     balls" (CP, 3/13)....Prospective Twins buyer Don Beaver was
     in Fort Myers yesterday to tour the team's spring training
     facility.  Beaver's assistant Tim Newman said that Beaver
     will attend next week's owners' meetings in St. Pete to get
     a "blessing on the transaction."  Newman said the Twins'
     sale to Beaver is contingent on two conditions: the sale
     being approved by MLB owners, and the relocation of the team
     to NC being approved (PIONEER PRESS, 3/13)....Around 400
     season-ticket holders attended the first Islanders Fan
     Forum.  NEWSDAY's Mark Herrmann writes, "The voice rose with
     every word, befitting a revival meeting under a tent. ... In
     all, it was a pretty good show" (NEWSDAY, 3/13).
