OLYMPIANS RETURN TO LATE NIGHT SHOWS OVER THE WEEKEND

          PICABO STREET appeared on the "Tonight Show" with Jay
     Leno on Friday.  Street, on her family: "It's not like we're
     grungy hippies that don't shower and things like that. 
     There's a lot of fallacies that can come along with that"
     (NBC, 2/27)....TNT's JIM LAMPLEY also appeared on the
     "Tonight Show."  Lampley wore his CBS Olympic credentials,
     which CBS threatened to take away if he continued doing
     Olympic reports for the "Tonight Show."  Lampley: "This is
     the credential that was threatened by a competing network. 
     It may surprise you to know that a competing network has
     such enormous interest in you, Jay" (NBC, 2/27)....TARA
     LIPINSKI was on the "Late Show" Friday.  DAVID LETTERMAN, on
     Lipinski's age, 15: "You can't even drive. ... Let me tell
     you something, you take your gold medal down to the DMV and
     see what happens.  Nothing" ("Late Show," CBS, 2/27).
