A TRI-FECTA, BABY! TRICON'S THREESOME PROMOTES MARCH MADNESS

          Tricon Global Restaurants, the exclusive fast-food
     partner of the NCAA, will run promotions for its Taco Bell,
     KFC and Pizza Hut chains in conjunction with the NCAA Final
     Four men's tournament in March, according to Greg Johnson of
     the L.A. TIMES.  Taco Bell's "Take a Shot at the Final Four"
     promo will offer consumers a chance to win free food, a ski
     boat, a trip to the Final Four tournament or a $20,000
     tuition for a future college student.  Pizza Hut will offer
     tickets to college bowl games and Final Four events, and KFC
     will offer Final Four commemorative cups (L.A. TIMES, 2/26). 
     AD AGE reports that Taco Bell has two new 30-second spots to
     support its March Madness promo.  KFC will also tout a new
     30-second spot, while Pizza Hut will use local NCAA team-
     themed spots for its promotion (AD AGE, 2/26).
          ANOTHER SHOT: NationsBank and Buick will award one fan
     a '98 Regal GS via a shoot-out, during halftime of the ACC
     women's tournament championship game March 1 (Buick).
