COWBOYS DISMISS TALK OF POSSIBLE RELOCATION TO ARLINGTON

          Cowboys officials called discussion about building a
     new stadium in Arlington "inconsequential," and said instead
     that the team will "ask Irving [TX] this spring to consider
     a much-delayed plan to expand Texas Stadium, add a
     retractable roof and make other improvements that could
     total" $260M, according to Backover & Smith of the FT. WORTH
     STAR-TELEGRAM.  The plan "could require" public funds and
     Irving voters "could be asked to increase a range of local
     taxes" to pay for the improvements (STAR-TELEGRAM, 1/24). 
     Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones: "We're very happy with our
     situation in Irving" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 1/24).
