          adidas Chair Robert Louis-Dreyfus "pledged" that the
     company's acquisition of Salomon "would lead to no
     significant job losses" (FINANCIAL TIMES, 1/13)...The Sports
     Authority's stock hit a 52-week low Monday after it
     announced that it expects a drop in fourth-quarter earnings. 
     Shares closed at $11.93 3/4, down $1.18 3/4 on the day, in
     trading of 776,900 shares, "about 2 1/2 times the normal
     day's activity."  Paine Webber analyst Aram Rubinson, on the
     fourth-quarter report: "People saw this coming.  The concept
     needs some tweaking" (MIAMI HERALD, 1/13).)
