NEWS CORP. EXECS LEAVE COMPANY TO FORM NEW SPORTS TV VENTURE

          Three former News Corp. and Fox Sports execs have
     launched SporTVision Systems, a new company focusing on high
     technology for sports broadcasting and related applications
     for stadiums, the Internet and other platforms.  The
     founding partners include Stan Honey, former News Corp. Exec
     VP/Technology Worldwide; Bill Squadron, former News Corp.
     Senior VP/Strategic Planning; and Jerry Gepner, former Fox
     Sports Senior VP/Field Ops & Engineering.  SporTVision will
     develop features for live and instant replay footage as well
     as the software, hardware and field ops for its products. 
     Current projects include a contract with Fox Sports to
     provide operational and software support for FoxTrax, and
     consulting on the Mets' new stadium project, including its
     broadcast infrastructure and in-stadium video services. 
     Investors in SporTVision include Sterling Ventures, chaired
     by Mets President Fred Wilpon, and Roy Disney's Shamrock
     Holdings.  SporTVision's tech lab is located in Silicon
     Valley, while the exec offices are in N.Y. (SporTVision).
