          Harlem Globetrotters Chair MANNIE JACKSON announced an
     endowment of $100,000 to the Lincoln School Alumni
     Foundation, Inc. of Edwardsville, IL (Globetrotters).
     ...Retiring 49ers TE BRENT JONES said he has been approached
     by Republican Party officials about "his possible interest
     in a run at Congress" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 12/12)....Giants QB
     DAVE BROWN will donate $10,000 worth of Logo Athletic Giants
     winter coats to an inner-city NJ Boys and Girls club (THE
     DAILY)....JOHN GILLETTE JR. pleaded guilty to 37 "counts of
     grand theft and one of forgery."  Gillette is charged with
     stealing $10.5M to $11.5M through his former agency, Pro
     Sports Management International and other offshoots
     businesses (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 12/11)....Celtics G DEE
     BROWN and his wife, TAMMY, have become the first clients of
     MA-based THE GIVING BACK FUND, a full-service public charity
     that serves as an umbrella organization for athletes' and
     entertainers' foundations, with the formation of the Tammy
     and Dee Brown Foundation (The Giving Back Fund).
