          Sonics Owner Barry Ackerley "remains engaged in
     negotiations" to join the investment group formed by Don
     Smiley to buy the Marlins (SEATTLE TIMES, 12/9)....The
     Capitals will begin wearing a third jersey after the All-
     Star break.  The sweater will be black with the team's
     secondary logo on the chest.  The logo is a picture of the
     U.S. Capitol with crisscrossed hockey sticks and stars
     behind it and a puck below it (WASHINGTON POST, 12/10).
