     magazine under the header, "Selling the Son.  Cablevision
     Has Prospered Largely Because CHUCK DOLAN Knows How And When
     To Use The Brass Knuckles.  Can He Make People Believe His
     Son Is Capable Of The Same?" (NEW YORK, 11/14 issue).
     ....MAGIC JOHNSON "wants to become the top boxing promoter
     in the history of the sport," according to a report by Don
     Cronin in USA TODAY.  Johnson will have to apply for a
     license to stage fights with the NV State Athletic
     Commission (NSAC).  NSAC Exec Dir MARC RATNER: "All he's
     done is come and see us.  Based on conversations with Magic,
     he's serious.  He'd be great for us and the sport" (USA
     TODAY, 11/20)....WNBA Comets Coach VAN CHANCELLOR was
     awarded a '97 "Good Guy" award by the National Women's
     Political Caucus (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 11/20).
