REPORT SAYS DODGERS HAVE LOST MILLIONS OVER PAST FOUR YEARS

The Dodgers reportedly lost $35M over the past four
years, according an L.A. Daily News report cited by the AP.
The Daily News, quoting organizational sources, also said
the team lost between $12-13M in '97 -- "the greatest loss
of the four-year period." The losses "apparently will not
affect the sale of the team" for a reported $350M by team
Owner Peter O'Malley to News Corp. (AP, 11/12).
DODGER BLUE? In L.A., Ross Newhan reports that sources
told him that in the owners' Player Relations Committee
unaudited filings, the team claimed losses of $6M in '97 and
$4M in '96. The sources add that the Dodgers had revenues
of $100M in '97, up $15M from '96. Newhan also reports that
sources now say Fox's buying price "is closer" to $311M than
     the $350M originally reported (L.A. TIMES, 11/12).
