CHARGERS TICKET GIVEAWAY SAVES SAN DIEGO $5,100

San Diego Deputy City Manager Bruce Herring said that
the city saved about $5,100 in rent credits to the Chargers
by buying 1,249 tickets to Sunday's game against the
Seahawks, according to Ray Huard of the SAN DIEGO UNION-
TRIBUNE. Vouchers for 900 game tickets bought by the city
were given to the Navy and Marine Corps to distribute to
enlisted personnel. To reach its 60,000-seat guarantee,
Herring said that the city bought an additional 149 tickets
that were not covered by vouchers "because more tickets were
left unsold at the start of the game than the 1,100 the city
had projected" (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 11/11).
