GENDER REPORT CARD: REPORT CHARTS WOMEN IN THE FRONT OFFICE

At "most teams" in the four major sports leagues, "upper management is overwhelming still male," according to Rachel Bachman in Sunday's OREGONIAN, who examined "Women In The Front Office." While women fans have increased, they still hold "less than" 10% of sports' executive jobs. At the NFL, for example, of the 30 teams, 23 "do not have one woman at the vice president level or above." But there are "signs that women have made their presence felt in men's pro sports" as women "have their largest presence in public relations and marketing, meaning they can shape the public image of pro sports." The following is a breakdown of the number of women who hold the titles of CEO, CFO, COO, President or Vice President in the four major pro sports leagues. NOTES: Sources are each sports league. Figures are current as of October (Portland OREGONIAN, 11/9).
