MUSHNICK SAYS MARV'S TALK SHOW TOUR IS A BIG MISTAKE

Marv Albert's decision to appear on "20/20", "Larry
King Live," and the "Late Show" with David Letterman next
week is a "terrible mistake," according to Phil Mushnick of
the N.Y. POST. Mushnick: "Marv Albert's itinerary, starting
Friday, reads like a promotional tour for a book or a movie.
It reeks of salesmanship, not sincerity. ... [T]his entire
endeavor will be perceived by smart people as overly
orchestrated sincerity. Because it will be." Mushnick
added that for celebrities recovering from a scandal, the
Barbara Walters/Larry King "circuit has become too redundant
and too transparent to foster anything but ridicule. And
people will still believe what they want to believe." More
Mushnick: "The question isn't whether Albert is making these
appearances too soon after his trial, but whether he should
be making them at all. Marv Albert can win nothing in the
coming week except added derision" (N.Y. POST, 11/2).
