MEDIA NOTES

          PRINT: In N.Y., Michael Shain reported that ESPN
     Magazine "again raided Time Inc. to fill two more key
     editorial jobs."  Lynn Crimado is leaving Money magazine to
     become ESPN Magazine's Managing Editor, while SI Design Exec
     Darrin Perry "has been lured to become ESPN Magazine's
     design director."  Shain added that Perry "has already
     redesigned the mag's logo from the prototype that has been
     circulating" (Michael Shain, N.Y. POST, 11/2).
          TV: HBO's "Inside the NFL" will tape a special midtown
     Manhattan edition tomorrow that will focus on the Jets and
     Giants (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 11/3)....In DC, Paul Farhi took an
     extensive look at the increasing cost of sports rights for
     broadcast and cable TV networks under the header, "Thrown
     For A Loss: The Cost Of Airing Sports Is Skyrocketing. 
     Guess Who's Paying."  Home Team Sports spokesperson Ted
     Ewanciw: "The reality is, costs do get passed through.  When
     a team pays its players, they have to recover their costs. 
     And so do we when we pay the teams" (WASHINGTON POST, 11/2).
