GLUCKSTERN LUNCHEON W/CLINTON NOT LIKELY TO ALTER ISLES SALE

Potential Islanders Owner Steven Gluckstern "was found
on a videotape seated next to President Clinton at an Oval
Office lunch for potential big-money donors," according to a
BLOOMBERG NEWS report in the N.Y. POST. Gluckstern: "It is
what it is. I can't deny that it was me." About a month
after the November '95 lunch, Gluckstern contributed $50,000
to the Democratic National Committee, "including $30,000
through a 'soft money,' contribution." Gluckstern: "I have
nothing to be ashamed about. I'm someone who wants to be
involved in the political process." NHL officials declined
comment, but Brett Pickett, son of Isles Owner John Pickett,
said he didn't expect the controversy with Gluckstern to
have any affect on the sale of the team (N.Y. POST, 11/2).
