FACILITY NOTES

KC-based sports architecture firms HOK, Ellerbe Becket
and HNTB were featured in an extensive piece in Sunday's
K.C. STAR (10/26)....A front-page story by Lance Williams in
     Sunday's S.F. EXAMINER examined last June's 49ers stadium
vote: "[F]our months after the voting, the election remains
a concern to many citizens, and aspects of the stadium vote
are still under investigation." Stadium opponents claimed
they had seen 49ers campaign workers wearing team logoed
clothing "near or inside polling places," and argued that
the presence of the 49ers supporters "intimidated some
voters ... enough, perhaps to sway a close election." S.F.
Mayor Willie Brown has "vouched for the integrity" of the
vote (S.F. EXAMINER, 10/26)....George Will, who serves on
the Padres Board of Dir, wrote a letter to the editor of the
San Diego Union-Tribune supporting a publicly funded
ballpark for the team (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 10/25)
