          U.S. Rep. CAROLYN KILPATRICK (D-MI) and members of the
     Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues will sponsor a
     hearing this Thursday to celebrate the 25th anniversary of
     Title IX (THE DAILY).  TISHA VENTURINI, a member of the '96
     U.S. Women's Olympic soccer team will appear at the hearing
     (Women's World Cup 1999)....MIRIAM CARRERAS, the mother of
     Marlins P LIVAN HERNANDEZ, has obtained a U.S. visa, but "it
     is unclear whether Cuba would let her leave" to see her son
     play in the World Series (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 10/21)....The OH-
     based NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SPORTS COMMISSIONS (NASC) has
     received its 150th member, the Adirondack Sports Commission
     in Lake Placid, NY (NASC)....The 4TH ANNUAL AMERICAN
     DIABETES ASSOCIATION CELEBRITY SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT
     AUCTION & DINNER will be held Wednesday evening at the
     Downtown Athletic Club in New York City (ADA).
