DUBLIN TO LAMAR HUNT: C'MON OUT, AND BRING THE WHOLE CREW

The MLS Crew is planning to build a 30,000-seat stadium
just west of Dublin, OH, if the City Council "agrees to buy
the land and extend roads and utilities to the site,"
according to Ortega & Crumbley of the COLUMBUS DISPATCH.
Crew Owner Lamar Hunt "has signed" a letter of intent to
commit to the proposal for the $30M stadium he would "want
to open" for the '99 season. Under the deal, Dublin would
acquire the land and lease it to Hunt Sports Group, which
would then "assume responsibility for design, construction
and management of the stadium and would guarantee the
payment of debt service." Dublin "would provide"
construction and financing of roads and extend water/sewer
utilities. The lease "would be for 25 years," with an
option for another 25 (COLUMBUS DISPATCH, 9/24).
