          Texaco announced an eight-year deal to become a U.S.
     Olympic sponsor through the 2004 Games, according to Jay
     Baltezore of the SALT LAKE TRIBUNE.  The deal is "said to be
     worth" more than $80M in cash and products, including
     gasoline, motor oil, diesel fuel and coolants under the
     Texaco and Havoline brand names.  Texaco's sponsorship also
     includes a connection to the teams for the 2002 Paralympic
     Winter Games and the 2003 U.S. Pan American Games (SALT LAKE
     TRIBUNE, 9/17).  In UT, Lisa Riley Roche notes that "more
     than half" of Texaco's contribution to the USOC "will be
     cash" (DESERET NEWS, 9/17).
