WORLD WIDE WEB GETTING TANGLED UP WITH FOOTBALL SITES?

Pro football sites on the Internet were profiled by
Seth Schiesel of the N.Y. TIMES, who wrote that NFL.com's
"main attraction seems to be that it updates the scores of
games as they change." Schiesel: "Still, as understandable
as it is unfortunate, much of the text ... reads like a
stadium program." Schiesel took CNNSi.com to task for not
updating team rosters, and noted while it "has a nice
gallery of pictures ... the photos do not generally
illustrate critical points in games." CBS Sportsline "has
by far the least reverent attitude toward the game of any of
the big-name sites," as it ran a poll asking, "Who is the
most overrated player in the NFL?" Schiesel: "CBS's stance
may be explained by the fact that it has no football on its
[TV] network." While ESPN SportsZone offers "comprehensive
and critical analysis," the "main problem with SportsZone is
that navigating the site can be discouraging even for
someone familiar with the Web" (N.Y. TIMES, 9/8).
