STADIUM NOTES

Despite purchasing naming rights to the Oakland Alameda Coliseum last week, UMAX technology received no name/graphic recognition during ABC's "Monday Night Football" telecast. The facility was consistently referred to as the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum ("MNF," ABC, 9/8).....Vyvx Inc.'s Choiceseat interactive technology, which includes 400 touch screens installed at Qualcomm Stadium, was noted in Sunday's N.Y. TIMES MAGAZINE (9/7)....In Denver, city officials "left room for compromise" on how much the Broncos "will pay toward the cost of shutting down Mile High Stadium." City attorney Dan Muse had said that the team may be asked to pay all the costs of closing Mile High, estimated well in the millions, before releasing the team from its lease. But Muse and Andrew Hudson, spokesperson for Mayor Wellington Webb, said yesterday that the city had not decided "how hard a stance to take in the negotiations" (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 9/9)....With Jack Kent Cooke Stadium set to open Sunday, the Redskins agreed to pay MD Metro transit $35,000 for shuttle buses that will transport fans between three subway stops and the stadium. Team officials were "undecided" about what to charge fans for the ride (WASHINGTON POST, 9/9).
